A Kebbi State-based group, Concerned Citizens of Kebbi State, has voiced its displeasure at the inappropriateness and professional incompetence exhibited by the state government media handlers for releasing a picture of the state governor smiling at the funeral prayers of a top government official who passed away early this week in Abuja.
According to the group, the action shows a total lack of professionalism and decorum in the conduct of both the photographer and media aide who released the photograph.
The group, in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Abduljjabbar Ahmed, called on the Kebbi State Ministry of Information, as the custodians of official communications, to investigate this negative image generated by the photograph that should have exhibited a mourning mood instead.
“This calls for a serious need to ensure training and retraining of media handlers to avoid this negative image to the state”, it stressed.
