HAMAS political leader, Ismail Haniyeh, has been killed in Tehran, Iran, Hamas claimed Wednesday morning, even as they pointed at Israel as being behind the attack.
In a statement, the Islamist group said they mourned the death of Haniyeh, whom they claimed was killed in “a treacherous Zionist raid on his residence in Tehran.”
He was allegedly responsible for the murder of thousands of Israelis. His death comes after an Israeli strike on a Beirut suburb which the IDF says killed a Hezbollah leader, Fuad Shukr.
It will be recalled that some months ago, his three children and grandchildren were killed by Israel through a bomb blast.
Ismail Haniyeh had come to Tehran from Qatar for the inauguration of Iran President Masoud Pezeshkian where they chanted “Death to Israel” and “Death to America”.
