A group of hunters in Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State have reportedly rescued a baby girl allegedly buried alive in the Ashav Kusuv community.
According to a local resident named Terna, the hunters stumbled upon the infant in a forest and brought her back to safety.
The baby is now under the care of the Ashav Kusuv community.
Confirming the incident, the local government chairman, Iorkyaan Agber, disclosed that investigations are underway to determine who abandoned the baby in the forest and the motives behind such an act.
Despite efforts to reach the Benue Police Spokesperson, Catherine Anene, for comment, she was unavailable for a comment on the development.
