Borno State governor, Mallam Babagana Zulum has said he has been offered the position of Vice President by at least two presidential aspirants in the coming political dispensation but that his focus is on the people of Borno State.

Governor Zulum spoke shortly after he was chosen as the standard-bearer of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next year’s governorship election.

According to him: “I have accepted my nomination for the second term as the flag bearer of our great party, But let me make it very clear that I have received offers of being the Vice President from two presidential aspirants and many Nigerians have recommended me for the position of the President or Vice.

“Despite the privileges attached to the Office of the Vice President, I wish to inform you that I will not accept the offer of being the Vice President despite the privileges attached to this position, I want to stay over and continue to serve the good people of Borno for the next four years. Borno is my number one priority and I will continue to work hard to ensure peace and stability in our dear state.”

The APC is scheduled to hold its national convention at the weekend where its presidential flag bearer and his/her Vice will emerge.
