CANDIDATE of the Republican Party in the November 2024 United States of America presidential election Donald Trump has suggested he likely wouldn’t run in 2028 if he loses the 2024 election against Vice President Kamala Harris.
In an interview with Sharyl Attkisson on 22 September Trump, a former President, said, “No, I don’t. I think … that will be it,” when asked about a third bid for the presidency.
Reflecting on his 2020 loss, Trump remarked, “It would have been easier if I did it, you know, contiguous,” but added that being out of office revealed the flaws in “radical left liberal” policies.
Trump, 78, who has led the Republican Party since 2016, noted that while threats against him won’t change how he governs, he feels safe.
He remained hopeful for success in 2024 but ruled out another campaign, stating, “I was a very consequential president, and would certainly be, maybe even more so this time.”
