NIGERIA’s Senior Man and Sevilla’s summer signing, Kelechi Iheanacho, who last played for Sevilla in mid-December before he was taken out at half-time in the 1-0 victory against Celta Vigo, is yet to find his form at the Spanish LaLiga.
This has raised a lot of concerns amongst football followers and got his coach being asked about his present form.
Speaking in an interview, Iheanacho’s boss, Garcia Pimenta, was asked about the reason for his struggles, and he had this to say:
“I don’t know the reason, but there are players who fit in better in one environment than in another,” the 50-year-old said.
“For whatever reason, Iheanacho hasn’t performed here at the level we all expect, including him.
“With his CV, there are some things that can’t be explained. Watching him train, you say, “This kid has plenty of quality.”
There were also suggestions that the Nigerian is suffering from a weight problem, but, Pimenta dismissed the notion, stating that the striker is in ideal physical condition. “Overweight? He’s not. We’re strict about that. After the injury, I don’t know, but before Christmas, he was at his weight.”
