The Chairman of the Enugu Depot of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Mr Anyaso Chinedu has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to help check the sale of illegally refined petroleum products in the country.
He made the appeal on Friday, 22 July 2022, when he visited the Commander of the Enugu Zonal Command of the EFCC, ACE Oshodi Johnson in Enugu.
Chinedu bemoaned the rate at which people extract and sell illegal petroleum products in the country, stating that he was at the EFCC to seek assistance in eradicating this menace.
“Our purpose of coming here today is to seek your support in stamping out the extraction, sale and distribution of illegal petroleum products within our jurisdiction. These illegal products damage cars and power generating sets engines and they pose a great risk to the health and safety of those who use them. These products are gradually finding their way into filling stations within our jurisdiction and we do not want that to continue. We hope that with the support we get from you, we will be able to achieve this goal,” Chinedu said.
