CROSSDRESSER James Brown has been called out for allegedly misleading Nigerians into believing that he visited Idris Okuneye (popularly known as Bobrisky) in prison.
Bobrisky was convicted on 5 April 2024 by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of a Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos over mutilation of the Naira notes. He was to serve six months behind bars.
However, on 7 June 2024, James Brown took to Instagram, claiming he visited Bobrisky in Kirikiri Prison. In the post captioned, “I went to Kirikiri prison to visit Bobrisky to know if she’s all right,” he shared pictures of himself, his team, and the Deputy Controller of Corrections, but notably, no picture with Bobrisky was included.A source speaking to Instablog9ja claimed that James Brown did not visit Bobrisky as reported. Instead, the visit was allegedly to an incarcerated singer named Vindicate, with whom James Brown collaborated on a song.
According to the source, James Brown had reached out to Vindicate for the project and permission was granted by the NCoS DG in Abuja.
The collaboration reportedly involved recording a song and making a video inside the prison. The source further stated that Bobrisky had only spent three weeks in Kirikiri Prison before being quietly relocated.
