KEBBI STATE governor, Comrade (Dr) Nasir Idris has distributed food items to no fewer than nine households affected by suspected bandits’ attack in the Shanga Local Government Area of the state.
Distributing the items to the affected households at Tunga Mankera village in Shanga Local Government Area on Sunday (today), the governor, Comrade Idris expressed dismay over the attack.
Comrade Idris, who visited the village, sympathised with the families, friends and entire villagers over what he described as an ungodly attack and assured them that his administration was committed to fighting crimes to ensure the safety of lives and property.
The governor, who was accompanied by the Emir of Yauri, Dr Mohammad Zayannu Abdullahi, condoled with his royal father over the persistent cases of insecurity in his domain.
“I am going to support the security agencies in order to curb the menace across the state most especially in Yauri and Zuru Emirates where the cases of insecurity are more pronounced,” a statement by Ahmed Idris, Chief Press Secretary to the governor quotes him as saying.
According to the CPS, the governor applauded the efforts of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in the state for their gallant and diligent exercise which led to the rescue of several kidnapped persons.
Also speaking, the Emir of Yauri, Dr. Mohammed Zayannu Abdullahi thanked the governor for the visit, saying that: “this is the first time that we are going feel the impact of the government.
“My people have been facing a lot of security challenges, we seriously need the support of government and security agencies to enable people to sleep with their two eyes close and go about their farm cultivation and other businesses peacefully,” he added.
