KEBBI State governor, Comrade (Dr) Nasir Idris has assured the Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KAEDCO) of the necessary support to facilitate improved power supply to the state.

He stated this when the MD/CEO of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company paid him a courtesy visit at Government House, Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.

The governor assured that his administration was ready to support the company to boost electricity supply to Kebbi State for businesses to thrive across the state.

“I am going to involve all the stakeholders in this journey so that there will be sanity in the process. It is also a welcome development that the company will embark on sensitisation programme. This will go a long in creating awareness among electricity consumers,”Ā  the governor stated.Ā

While emphasising the need for the state to enjoy 24 hours power supply as hitherto experienced, the governor, according to his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, appealed to the management of KAEDCO to find a lasting solution to the present epileptic power supply to Kebbi State.

According to him, an aggressive enlightenment campaign persuading consumers to pay their electricity bills will increase the company’s revenue regeneration and will thereby pave the way for a stable power supply.

Responding, the MD/CEO of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company, Engr. Yusuf Usman Yahaya informed the governor that the team was in the Government House to congratulate the governor on his victory at the polls and to also further cement the synergy between the company and the state government.

He expressed concern over the non-payment of monthly electricity bills by the electricity consumers and appealed to the state government to support the company by advising people on the importance of prompt payment of monthly electricity bills.Ā

The MD pledged support and a cordial working relationship with the new administration in the state as it had been with the previous administration.Ā
