Kebbi Govt Welcomes Retired Supreme Court Justice Amina Augie Back Home

KEBBI STATE Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafidan Kabib has welcomed home Hon. Justice Amina Adamu Augie who recently retired as Supreme Court Judge after serving the nation.

Speaking on Friday while receiving her in Birnin Kebbi, the Deputy Governor congratulated her on behalf of the government and good people of Kebbi State for her meritorious service to the nation.

“We will certainly not forget her wise counsel and the enduring legacies of defending the rule of law and transparency in public office, as well as her numerous contributions in making this nation a better place for our people” Senator Umar stated.

He explained that Justice Amina had good intentions for the country she diligently served through her visionary leadership for the judiciary, maintaining that Nigerians will continue to remember her simplicity, honesty and commitment when she served the nation with absolute transparency, patriotism and fear of God. 

“We will continue to cherish your firm commitment to the electoral reforms and other numerous contributions to the judicial system, among other legacies aimed at improving the lots of Nigerians” he added.

Senator Umar wished her a very peaceful retirement life and active future endeavour. 

Earlier in her remark, the retired apex court judge expressed gratitude over the wonderful reception and successful completion of her national service.

“Leaving Kebbi as Chief Magistrate in 1992, I was appointed as High Court Judge in Sokoto State which after scaling through the steps, I was later appointed as Supreme Court judge” she said.

Justice Amina was accompanied to the back-home visit by her younger brother,  siblings and other relatives.

According to Murtala Mu’azu Gotomo, Press Secretary, Deputy Governor’s Office, the event was graced by the Head of Service, Alhaji Sufiyanu Garba Bena, Commissioners, Deputy Chief of Staff, Alhaji Lauwali Labbo Maishanu,  Permanent Secretaries and other government officials.
