THE presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has appealed to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure Nigerians are not disenfranchised in the ongoing presidential and National Assembly elections.
He expressed worry over the delay in the arrival of voting materials in some parts of the country in the ongoing voting exercise, particularly in his hometown, Kwankwaso town in Kano State
Kwankwaso said voting did not start in his area until 11 am instead of 8 am, adding that this might prevent eligible voters from exercising their franchise.
Meanwhile, Kwankwaso’s opposite number in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has cast his vote in his hometown of Adamawa.
Atiku, who arrived early at his polling unit, Ajiya 02, in Gwadabawa Ward, Yola North Local Government of Adamawa State, underwent accreditation that lasted for a few minutes and thereafter cast his vote, alongside his wife.
Addressing the newsmen after casting his vote, Atiku expressed optimism that the process will be hitch-free for voters.
He also said that he is optimistic about emerging as the winner of the poll.
