AS part of efforts to fortify the existing relationship between the Police in Lagos State and members of the Bar, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Adegoke Fayoade, has initiated a monthly roundtable meeting with the Nigerian Bar Association.
Present at the maiden edition of the meeting, held on Thursday, 14 March, at the Command’s headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos, were the management team, O/C of the Command’s Legal Department, branch chairmen of NBA in Lagos and area commanders.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), highlighted in a press release that the meeting aimed to strengthen the existing synergy and find solutions to problems affecting both the police and members of the Bar.
According to the statement, CP Fayoade assured members of the NBA that the Command would continually play its part in ensuring that the goals for which the monthly roundtable meeting was initiated were achieved.
“Members of the NBA, led by Idris K Thany, Esq, Chairman of the Ikorodu Branch, while commending the Lagos State Command for the initiative, gave assurance that the NBA would support the Police, especially in her role in the criminal justice system.
“He equally assured the command of the readiness of the Association to sanction any lawyer found engaging in unprofessional practices”, the statement disclosed.
