THE Labour Party governorship candidate in Lagos State in the 11th March 2023 election, Architect Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour has not stepped down nor considered stepping down from the race.
This position is contained in a statement by the executive members, supporters and stakeholders of the party in Lagos signed by Pastor (Mrs.) Dayo Ekong, the Chairman of the party in the state.
Describing reports of abdication from the race as “spurious”, the group maintains that there is no basis for Mr. Gbadebo to step down for any other candidate whatsoever, as he is well positioned to win the Lagos State governorship election scheduled for Saturday, 11th March 2023.
“Architect Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour is the Labour Party candidate. He is good and ready to go to the polls to vote and be voted for as the next governor of Lagos State.
“We call on Lagosians to disregard the obvious misinformation, baseless falsehood, which we have on good authority, is emanating from Nigeria Labour Congress, in its entirety. Those who want to sell out are not real Obidients, they are fake and must be disregarded and treated as miscreants by the general public as agents of mischief who do not mean well for Lagosians.
“Labour Party in Lagos State wants to make this very clear that Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour and Labour Party will win the governorship election in Lagos State come March 11th, 2023.
“We will deliver our Lagos, a Lagos that works for all people of Lagos State. We are confident that Obidient Family across Lagos State who delivered Lagos State for OBI-DATTI at the presidential election will do it again and free Lagos State from the hand of a stooge governor and a stooge candidate of the ruling and opposition party working for a tyrant, a one-man show who controlled our commonwealth for twenty-four years come Saturday.
“Labour Party in Lagos State remains solid and on ground under the leadership of a strong and focused Chairman Pastor Mrs. Dayo Ekong and the party executive members.
“We enjoin all to remain steadfast in your quest for a better Lagos State. Please stand in line to vote for a better Lagos. Vote Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour as the next governor of Lagos State”.
