The League Management Company (LMC) has slammed a number of sanctions on Kano Pillars Football Club including banishment to the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja for the club’s home games for the rest of the session.

Kano Pillars fans at the weekend stormed the turf of the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano forcing the abandonment of the North-West derby vs Katsina United played on Saturday 16th April 2022.

Images of the Katsina United bus damaged by the irate Kano Pillars fans trended on social media platforms, a development that has been roundly condemned by fans, stakeholders and lovers of the beautiful game of football.

However, aside from banishment to Abuja, the LMC has slammed a Nine Million Naira (N9,000,000.00) only fine on the club for breaches of Nigeria Professional Football League ( NPFL) rules.

The team will also have three points deducted from already accrued points. The club will also repair/replace the damaged Katsina United FC team bus, and finally, the inconclusive game to be continued /replayed in Abuja.

Recall that Kano Pillars are not new to cases of hooliganism and were guilty of the same offence when their game against eventual NPFL Champions, Akwa United FC was abandoned due to crowd trouble.
