GOVERNOR Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has presented a total sum of Three Billion, Five Hundred Million Naira (N3,500,000,000.00) grants to 105 rural community schools across the state.
Governor Makinde made the symbolic presentation of the cheques at the conference room of the office of the Secretary to the State Government, Governor’s Office, Ibadan.
The governor, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Barr. Bayo Lawal said improving the standard of education remains on the front burner in the activities of the present administration in the state.
He stressed that the government is committing necessary resources towards putting the state in good stead for every benefit from the federal government and the global communities.
He then charged the benefiting schools’ management to ensure that the standards of the projects to be executed with the grant were in accordance with specifications.
The schools’ renovation projects are expected to be completed within six weeks.
