Ternenge Peter, 30, of Wurukum, Makurdi, has been found guilty by a Makurdi Chief Magistrate Court of defacing a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) billboard.
The PDP billboard was reportedly installed at the Wurukum Roundabout, and Mr Peter was apprehended Monday morning over allegations of defacing it.
He was given a month of community service by the magistrate court presided over by Mrs Kadoon Gbasha.
However, he was informed that two months would be added to his sentence if he violated the conditions of the community service.
The magistrate stated that the 30-working-day community service will be performed at the court’s facilities from 9 am to 2 pm each day.
She issued a warning to the state’s youth, urging them to abstain from drinking and mischief and get involved in productive activities to safeguard their future.
