PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to hold a meeting with the leadership of the Organised Labour comprising the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) over the contentious minimum wage.
The President is expected to present government decision to the labour leaders with regard to the minimum wage for Nigerian workers.
The Nigerian Government and organized labour have been at loggerheads over the implementation of a new minimum wage for workers.
While labour is demanding N250,00, the Nigerian Government has proposed N60,000 as the new national minimum wage.
The proposed meeting will come about a month after the President promised to send an Executive Bill to the National Assembly on the minimum wage.
Tinubu made the promise during his Democracy Day speech on June 12, 2024.
