Minister Lauds Kebbi Gov’s Developmental Projects

THE Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has commended Governor Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu’s administration for development projects that have a direct bearing on the lives of the people in Kebbi State

Senator Bagudu made the commendation when he paid a courtesy call to the Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafidan Kabi on Monday in Birnin Kebbi.

While praising the good leadership of Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu’s administration, the Minister expressed confidence in the ability of the governor and his deputy as a team to achieve better development goals and called on the people of the state to support the administration for more dividends of democracy.

The Minister condoled with the people and government of Kebbi State over the death of famous Islamic scholar, Late Sheik Abubakar Giro Argungu who died recently after a brief illness.

He equally sympathised with the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) and the government of Kebbi State over the fire outbreak which destroyed one 90MVA (330KV/132KV) and a 60MVA (132KV/33KV) transformer valued at 4 million US Dollars at TCN substation in Birnin Kebbi on Thursday, 14th September, 2023.

Responding, Senator Kabi thanked the Minister for the visit and congratulated him and his colleague, the Minister of State Education, Dr. Yusuf Tanko Sununu for their well-deserved appointments as Ministers by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“As I know your capacity, I believe you will not fail the state, you will be good ambassadors of the state and I believe you will be the best Ministers in the federation”, Senator Kabi was quoted as saying in a statement endorsed by Murtala M. Gotomo, Press Secretary, Deputy Governor’s Office.Ā 

The Minister, accompanied by the deputy governor; APC National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu; Head of Service, Alhaji Sufiyanu Garba Bena; among others, visited the burnt TCN installation in Birnin Kebbi where the Assistant-General Manager, Technical Services, Engr. Abdul’aziz Abubakar briefed them about the nature of the incident as well as the development so far.

Engr. Abubakar said TCN and Kaduna Electric are working hand-in-hand to restore power supply in the Birnin Kebbi metropolis as well as some parts of Sokoto State.
