FORMER Minister of Aviation who is also a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has spoken out for the first time since the unveiling of the 47 ministerial nominees expected to constitute President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Executive Council.
Eighteen-Eleven Media recalls that the itinerant Osun State-born politiciaMrlayed a key role in the campaign that produced President Tinubu as the presidential candidate of the APC as well as in the run-up to the general election held earlier in the year.
It will also be recalled that President Tinibu last Thursday transmitted the list of the first batch containing 28 names to the upper chamber of the National Assembly for screening.
The final list containing 19 names was read on the floor of the Senate yesterday by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
Chief Fani-Kayode, in what may be described as a terse response to taunts, particularly from members of the opposition parties over the absence of his name in the lists, congratulated the nominees saying he wishes them the very best in their service to the nation.
In a series of tweets via his Twitter handle Thursday morning, the former Minister declared that nominees are all excellent choices made by the President.
He wrote, “Congratulations to all those in both the first and second ministerial lists of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (@officialABAT).
“They are all excellent choices and I wish them the very best in their service to our great nation.
“I was a Minister 16 years ago and I know how tasking and challenging it can be. We must remember them in our prayers and ask God to guide them in all their endeavours as they make difficult choices for our nation and assist Mr President. God will use them to take our great nation to a higher level”.
