The trial of Chidinma Ojukwu, who is standing trial over alleged conspiracy and murder of the Chief Executive of Super TV, Usifo Ataga was on Monday stalled at the Lagos State High Court annexe at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Igbosere.
This was due to a contest of integrity of the deceased’s bank statements presented before the Judge, Yetunde Adesanya.
Miss Ojukwu is facing trial for murder, stealing, and forgery alongside Adedapo Quadri and Chioma Ebuchu.
Two representatives from Access Bank Plc and GTCO had appeared in court to tender the statements of account of the deceased as evidential documents.
However, the defence counsel for the first defendant, Onwuka Egwu, objected to the evidence being tendered, saying the document came like a spring of surprise.
The counsel for the second defendant, Babatunde Busari, also objected to the rendering of the bank statements on the basis that it was different from the account details already tendered before the court as an exhibit.
The Lagos State Deputy Director of Public Prosecution, Adenike Oluwafemi, prayed the court for an adjournment to effect the needed adjustments.
Further hearing was fixed for Tuesday, 26th April 2022.
