AFROBEAT Singer and son of the late Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, Seun has explained his role in the controversy surrounding Idris Okuneye (popularly known as Bobrisky) and Martins Vincent Otse (also known as VeryDarkMan.).
Kuti revealed that he encouraged VeryDarkMan to release the audio recording allegedly featuring Bobrisky claiming to have bribed officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with Fifteen Million Naira (N15,000,000.00) only money laundering charge the self-styled Lagos Mummy was initially accused of for the lesser Naira abuse allegation he was eventually convicted of
During an Instagram live session, Kuti stated, “I was the first person VeryDarkMan informed about the recording. I gave him the go-ahead to expose him”.
The audio recording sparked heated debate, with Bobrisky denying the claims and labelling the recording as fake.
Bobrisky asserted that he served his prison term, contrary to the recording’s claims.
The EFCC has since summoned Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan to its Lagos office to provide information and assist with the ongoing investigation into the bribery allegations.
