THE National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has alerted the public about the sale of Chlorpheniramine and Dexamethasone injection ampoules that are mislabelled and repacked as Noristerat Injection 200mg.
Samples of the counterfeit product have been reported to be found in Niger and Bauchi states, and especially the Coordinated Wholesale Centre (CWC) in Kano State.
The agency says It is important to note that the counterfeiter has been tracked and arrested for further investigation and enforcement of regulatory sanctions.
Genuine Noristerat 200mg is a contraceptive injection that offers 8 weeks of pregnancy protection. It is a short-term birth control method.
