AT the 19th International Conference of Drug Regulatory Authorities #ICDRA in New Delhi, India, the Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye presented Nigeria’s Advancements in Regulating Paediatric Medicinal Products.
She emphasized the Agency’s role in the WHO Paediatric Regulatory Network and efforts to ensure safe paediatric products, with the Paediatric Medicinal Products Regulations 2024 set to be approved.
Prof. Adeyeye also shared key insights from NAFDAC’s COVID-19 response, detailing the Agency’s Business Continuity Plan and its swift adaptation to challenges during the pandemic. She underscored Nigeria’s proactive vaccine approvals and the importance of local vaccine production.
NAFDAC’s digital transformation, traceability systems, and strengthened enforcement post-pandemic are positioning the Agency to better address future public health challenges. The DG’s presentations showcased Nigeria’s leadership in global health regulation.
