SUPER Eagles defensive midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, has apologised to Nigerians over his perceived underperformance during the team FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Zimbabwe played in Uyo last Tuesday.
Leicester City midfielder had received backlash from social media fans for squandering a begging goal-scoring chance and also was culpable in the last minute goal Nigeria Super Eagles conceded in the game against Zimbabwe in Godswill Akapbio International Stadium , Uyo, Akwa Ibom.
Frustrated by the result, some Nigerian fans took to social media to voice their displeasure with Ndidi, calling out his performance and particularly his missed opportunity
In response, the Leicester City defensive midfielder wrote on Instagram:
“Please, make una no vex for goal wey I miss. Nobody perfect for him job.”
The Super Eagles conceded a late goal in the match after Victor Osimhen had scored a beautiful header which would have saw the team move to the second position on the table and in a pole position to contest the sole ticket in the group with leaders South Africa. However, the 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe is as good as dashing the hope of the country ever featuring in the global sport fiesta.
