POPULAR musician Hon Tony Oneweek Muonagor has disclosed that his cousin, a renowned Nollywood Actor, Amaechi Muonagor (popularly known as Aguiyi) is “currently down with kidney disease, diabetes and stroke”.

In a widely shared video a night earlier, Mr Muonagor claimed that he had been experiencing a stroke for the previous seven months.
Mr Muonagor, who appeared bedridden in the video, made an appeal to the public for financial support.
“I am sick, this thing that is called stroke caught up with me, and from there they rushed me to the hospital. The first hospital they rushed me to was in Nnewi, where I spent some two months and I was referred to teaching hospital Nnewi and here I am.
“In that set, I was with Emeka Ani, Patience Ozokwo, Rita Edochie, and Ebele Okaro, at the end of that moment, I was to enter my car when I was struck with this problem and since then it’s getting worse. Right now I cannot move, I can’t walk on my own. All my half of left is paralyzed, so it’s a problem to me.”
Speaking further, Mr Muonagor said: “I’m so sorry I didn’t make it known to the public earlier, because I didn’t know it would last this long, but as it is now, I am calling on well-minded individuals to come to my assistance, to see how they can help me. It’s paralysis, half of my body.”
However, Tony Oneweek in a post on social media said his cousin is presently on admission at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi. He said that he initially wanted to quietly assist the much he could, but later decided to make the post to clarify some things so that his friends, fans and Amaechi’s fans and indeed the online community can be better informed.
According to him, the actor is presently undergoing weekly dialysis and other treatments at the hospital. “His family had been shouldering the costs for years until the recent stroke made his case more serious and indeed more expensive to battle alone, hence the publicity.
“Within the limits of my own capabilities, I have done and am still doing my best to assist the much I can, even reaching out to well-meaning individuals who are donating to this cause’.
