NOLLYWOOD producer and actor Chris Bassey has revealed that he has left the Nigerian entertainment industry for plumbing in Canada.
He made this known during a recent Instagram live interview with media personality Daddy Freeze. He shared his decision to venture into construction, specifically plumbing.
Bassey highlighted the financial benefits of his new profession, arguing that it “pays better than tech jobs”.
Freeze had queried Bassey about his career choices since relocating abroad.
In his response, the movie producer said: “I am into construction here, I do construction, I am a plumber.”
“In the last seven months, the provinces I have visited on weekends just within Canada, someone who is into tech cannot afford what I was paid. I am not capping. I know what I am saying; I do not know about the US, but here.”
Bassey began his career as a scriptwriter in the early 2000s. He wrote his first movie titled ‘Master of The Game’ in 2004.
He ventured into acting in 2012 after he was convinced by Charles Inojie, the ace Nollywood actor.
Bassey has been featured in numerous movies such as: ‘Sin Of A Woman’ (2013), ‘School Trouble’ (2014), ‘Love In A Valley (2022), and ‘A Bet On Love’ (2023).
