NORTHERN People Forum and Unit for the Enthronement of Democratic Ideals (NPFU) has cautioned the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu against throwing shades on President Muhammadu Buhari and the North.

This group also called on the presidential candidate to look inwards to ascertain what he might have done wrong to necessitate the negative perception of Nigerians toward his presidential bid.

This is contained in a statement issued by the National Coordinator of the group, Bar. Abdulwahab Kabir Magaji, on Tuesday in Kaduna.

In the statement, Magaji cautioned Tinubu with a call on him not to jeopardize existing peace in the country, saying the call became necessary to starve tension in the country.

He said, “We are using this opportunity to call on our brother, Asiwaju Tinubu to cease hostility to the President and the entire North.

“We are calling on him to exercise the required restraint of an elder statesman while pursuing his ambition”.

Magaji added that rather than blame the President, the North and the cabal for his woes, it is imperative that Asiwaju Tinubu should look inwards to ascertain whatever he had done wrong.

He continued: “To us, this will serve him better than looking for real and imagined enemies that don’t exist.

“His plan to incite the South-West against the North won’t work. Rather, he should carry his cross by himself and leave the people.”
