KEBBI STATE Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has assured of its unalloyed support to the state government for the overall development of the state.
The Acting Chairman of the union, Comrade Garba Muhammad Yeldu gave the assurance when he led members of the State Council of NUJ on a courtesy call on the state Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafidan Kabi, in Birnin Kebbi Monday.
Comrade Garba Yeldu said the reason for the visit was to strengthen the relationship between the state government and journalists in the state.
The NUJ Chairman said the council is set to take quick disciplinary action against any erring journalist who misbehaves unethically or publicizes an unconfirmed story that brings tension to society.
Responding, the state Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Abubakar Tafidan Kabi lauded the cordial relationship between the state government and journalists, while assuring NUJ of the government’s support when the need arises.
