THE Osun State Police Command has confirmed that six people lost their lives in the political unrest that engulfed the state on Monday.
In a statement released today, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola, sympathized with those who lost loved ones and property to the crisis.
She stated that the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Abba has assured the public that thorough investigation will be conducted to apprehend the perpetrators of the mayhem.
Pleading for calm, SP Opalola urged residents to remain patient, and allow security operatives to carry out their duties.
She warned that the state Police Command will not allow anyone to disrupt the peace of the state.
She added that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has deployed mobile police squadrons to state to restore order.
