THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has formally initiated proceedings to address allegations of anti-party activities levelled against the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike – CON, GSSRS.
This development was announced by Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily programme on Monday.
Abdullahi disclosed that Wike, a former governor of Rivers State, has been officially summoned via a written letter to appear before the disciplinary committee, chaired by esteemed party leader Chief Tom Ikimi.
“We have received multiple petitions alleging sabotage against the party throughout the primary process, which have been compiled and forwarded to the committee”, Abdullahi stated.
According to him, some party members opined that Wike had been given too much leeway by the party leadership.
Regarding Wike’s recent comments about “putting fire” in the states of PDP governors that support Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, Abdullahi condemned the statement.
He described Wike’s remarks as “very disappointing and not in line with our expectations”.
