Popular Nigerian musician Peter Okoye of PSquare fame has mocked politicians in the country for the way they have been obtaining the presidential forms ahead of 2023 of the existing eighteen recognised political parties.
“The way dis people dey declare to run 2023 Presidency eh! E don pass beer parlour drink declaration. Aah..aah. make Una calm down na. Just saying,” he wrote.
This is coming after Pastor Tunde Bakare also obtained the N100 million form to join others under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the presidential race.
The Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, Nigeria, would officially declare his presidential ambition on Monday, 9th May 2022, at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Central Business District in Abuja, according to a statement.
Tunde Bakare was a former Vice-Presidential candidate to Muhammadu Buhari during the 2011 elections under the Congress for Progressive Change and he is also the Convener of the Save Nigeria Group.
He joined a growing list of almost a dozen who had already purchased what is considered an exorbitant Expression of Interest and Nomination Form. Serving Ministers in the Muhammadu Buhari, governors and others have indicated an interest in the plum office which will be vacant in May 2023 following the expiration of the tenure of the incumbent.
