THE Leader of the Labour Party (LP) and the party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Mr Peter Obi, has visited the two gladiators in the defamation case that has enjoyed prominent mentions in Nigeria’s public discourse.
It will be recalled that Chief Afe Babalola instigated the arrest and prosecution of Mr Dele Farotimi following an allegation of defamatory commentary contained in the latter’s book, ‘Nigeria and Its Criminal Justice System’.
Mr Farotimi is presently being detained in a correctional facility on the order of a magistrate court. The hearing on his bail application is scheduled for today.
