BARELY three weeks after his release from Police custody controversial social media activist, Martin’s Vincent Otse,(popularly known as VeryDarkMan) has been apprehended by the Nigerian Police Force.

This information was revealed by his lawyer, Mr Deji Adeyanju on Sunday adding that his client has again been arrested after exposing someone who allegedly scammed a Nigerian abroad.

Though no reason has been given yet for his arrest,  Deji Adeyanju said it’s connected to his recent exposure.

In a post on his X account on Sunday, Adeyanju said, “Our client, @thatverydarkman has just been arrested by the police on the instruction of CP Igwe for exposing someone who allegedly duped a Nigerian abroad.

“Instead of the police to arrest the person alleged to have duped someone, they arrested VDM on an allegation of defamation.”

It was learnt that the influencer was arrested on the orders of the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, Mr Benneth Igwe.

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja had on Monday, 10 June 2024 granted bail to the social media activist. He was released from police custody after meeting his bail condition.

He was arraigned on five counts bordering on cyberstalking.
