EKITI STATE-born chef, Damilola Adeparusi, (better known as Chef Dammy) was yesterday, 23 November invited for questioning by men of the Police AIG zone 17 in Akure, Ondo State following a petition allegedly filed against her by her estranged pastor, Prophet Adegoke Jeremiah, the founder of Spirit Word Global Mission of Saint Mary Primary School, situated along Federal University, Oye-Ekiti Road, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Confirming reports of her invitation to LIB correspondent, the spokesperson of AIG Zone 17, DSP Hakeem, said the police received a petition against Chef Dammy and she was invited by the police. He said Dammy honoured the invitation this afternoon 23 November and was thereafter granted administrative bail after providing a surety.
“She is not in our custody. She was not detained” he said
Recall that Chef Dammy came to the limelight after she attempted to cook for 120 hours straight, days after Hilda Baci broke the Guinness World Record for the Longest Cooking Hours by an individual. Dammy who had the backing of her pastor and church members, later fell out with him. She went on to accuse him of a threat to her life. The clergyman then filed a lawsuit against her, demanding that she retract the threat to life allegation.
Eighteen-Eleven Media reports that Prophet Jeremiah (popularly known as Billion Dollars Prophet) recently wrote Chef Dammy accusing her of making a defamatory statement via her Instagram page.
In the letter addressed to Chef Dammy Billion Dollars Prophet said that he was taken aback when he read the following statement about him which Chef Dammy posted on her Instagram page on Thursday 19th day of October, 2023. “…but in case anything happens to me, Adegoke Jeremiah, (a.k.a. Billion Dollars Prophet), hold him responsible, he told me to prepare for war and we are both on it”.
Writing through his lawyer, Busayo Sule &Co, Billion Dollars Prophet stated that: “You were a member of his fellowship with a total membership of One Hundred and Twenty (120).
“The fellowship is a religious group, which majority of her membership are students of Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, primarily established to teach and propagate the word of God.
“The fellowship equally caters for the welfare needs of her members which you have greatly benefitted from,
“It is an undenying (sic) and well-known fact that you became a renowned Nigeria Chef Dammy by the sponsorship of the Spirit-Word Global Mission under the leadership of our client.”.
He therefore demanded the payment of Twenty Million Naira (N20,000,000.00) only for the alleged defamatory statement.
