ANGRY youths in Ifon, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, have burnt down a police station following the controversial death of a suspect in Police custody.
The victim, Tobi Bobade, allegedly died while in Police detention.
This sparked outrage among residents, who stormed the station and set it ablaze.
While protesters claim Bobade was tortured to death, the Police maintained he died while receiving medical treatment at a hospital.
The Ondo State Police Commissioner, Wilfred Afolabi, has ordered an investigation into the suspect’s death and subsequent attack on the Police facility.
“All those responsible for this criminal act will face the full weight of the law,” Afolabi declared on Sunday.
