A rather interesting development has emerged in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), as one of its pastors has openly challenged the tithe doctrine in a video posted a week ago on an RCCG YouTube channel.
In the video, the pastor claims that some ministers misrepresent the purpose of tithing and do not really explain that it is collected to help the poor, while others simply come to take the money and deceive their congregations.
He pointed out that such practices have led to falsehood and confusion within the church, urging people to be wary of these individuals.
This bold revelation is surprising, given that the pastor is under Daddy G.O., who has previously stated that those who don’t pay tithes will not enter heaven.
Many people online are speculating that this pastor might be sacked or removed from the denomination for expressing such views.
The pastor himself supports tithing and even remits a portion of it to the Lagos headquarters. He also encourages people to give generously.
His willingness to speak openly about the issue on social media suggests a significant shift is happening within the church.
Now, the tithe debate has officially entered the RCCG denomination.
