HIGHLY respected Igbo gospel artist Sir Jude Nnam, celebrated for his contributions to liturgical and Christian music across Nigeria and Africa, has reportedly been kidnapped in Umunnachi, Anambra State.
Sir Jude Nnam, who is one of the best composers of liturgical and Christian music in Nigeria and Africa, celebrated his 59th birthday just 5 days ago.
The incident occurred on Thursday evening around 6 p.m. in Umunnachi, Anambra State, where the music icon had travelled for a church event.
His abduction was confirmed by the National Music Director of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and a member of the National Liturgical Commission of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), Rev. Fr. Augustine Mario on Facebook on Friday. He wrote, “Please kindly keep Sir Dr Jude Nnam (Ancestor) in your prayers.
“He was allegedly kidnapped yesterday evening around 6 p.m. in Umunnachi, Anambra State.
“Sir Jude Nnam is the CAN National Music Director and Member of the National Liturgical Commission, CSN, etc. May God grant him safety and quick release from his abductors. Amen.”
Sir Jude Nnam is highly revered for his exceptional compositions that have touched many lives, both within and beyond the church community.
His kidnapping has sent shockwaves to his family, the music world, and the Christian community.
