THE Obidient Movement Worldwide has described the immediate rescue of the abducted representing Onitsha 1 North Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Justice Azuka as a litmus test for the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
Hon Azuka was on Christmas Eve waylaid and abducted at Ugwunaobamkpa Road inland town, Onitsha while on his way to his village for the Christmas festivities.
Dr Yunusa Tanko, the National Coordinator of the movement worldwide, in a statement on Friday, said the rescue of the lawmaker is a litmus test for the Police Force to gain the confidence of the people in their operations and safeguard the lives and properties of Nigerians at large.
“We’re using this medium to call on relevant security agencies, the Nigeria Police Force, Anambra State Command, the Vigilante groups and all stakeholders in the security sector in Anambra State to collaborate, sweeping through every hideouts, dens, suspected kidnappers hang-out and every nook and cranny, facilitating the immediate and unconditional release of the Hon. Justice Azuka.”
“We also call on all supporters, associates, friends and family of the lawmaker to remain calm and provide any useful information to the security agencies to hasten up the process of his release.
“We’re confident that Hon. Azuka will regain his freedom from his abductors soonest as we continue to work harder, relentlessly, utilising all tools and resources within our reach to ensure a new Nigeria emerges; that will guarantee the security of every single Nigerian.

Hon Azuka is a chieftain of the Labour Party (LP) who regained his mandate from the sacked Hon. Douglas Egbuna of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who was previously announced the winner of the 2023 poll as the lawmaker representing Onitsha 1 North Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly.
