SADIO MANE is on the verge of joining Saudi Arabia’s Pro League outfit, Al-Nassr, where he will join Cristiano Ronaldo up front.
The 31-year-old Senegalese superplayer had long been expected to quit Bayern Munich after just one season, 25 appearances, in which he scored just seven Bundesliga goals. Bayern had signed him from Liverpool for £35.1 million to replace its goal machine, Robert Lewandowski, last summer. At the time, Mane said Ronaldo, the Portuguese football superstar, had congratulated him on the move. Mane is one of several top players who have now signed with Saudi Arabia.
Mane’s move to Al-Nassr will undoubtedly be a significant coup for the club, which has already secured the signings of UEFA Champions League finalist Marcelo Brozovic and RC Lens captain Seko Fofana.
Furthermore, transfer market specialist Fabrizio Romano confirms that Al-Nassr is edging closer to adding Manchester United’s Alex Telles to their star-studded squad after finishing as runners-up in the 2022/23 Saudi League.
Tuchel speaks on Mane’s future
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel has provided insights into Sadio Mane’s future, addressing recent reports linking the player away from the German champions.
Various sources suggest that Mane has been informed by the club’s hierarchy that he is not part of their plans for the upcoming season, leading to speculation of a potential move to Saudi Arabia.
In response to these rumours, Tuchel has finally addressed Mane’s status at the club, breaking his silence on the matter, Sports Brief reported.
Mane’s agent addresses Saudi links
In a previous publication, Sports Brief reported that Mane’s club future remains uncertain, with the player’s manager making a U-turn about the Senegalese star’s immediate destination.
The player’s manager, Bacary Cisse, has recently denied the rumoured offers from clubs in the Middle Eastern country, even claiming discussions had not taken place at all.
