LAGSO STATE governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced the inclusion of the Lagos State Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, (NIS), as a member of the State Security Council.
Governor Sanwo-Olu announced this when the Comptroller of the Lagos State Command of NIS, Bala Aliyu Dangana, and other top officers of the Command paid him a courtesy visit at the Lagos House, Marina.
He said it was important and strategic for the NIS to be part of the Lagos State Security Council since the Service was in charge of border, migrants, and citizen movements.
Governor Sanwo-Olu also commended the Comptroller and the NIS personnel on the recent identification of migrants that were not well documented and were not meant to be where they met them, adding that all hands must be on deck to repatriate illegal migrants.
Earlier, Mr Dangana said NIS had redoubled its efforts in ensuring that Lagos State and indeed Nigeria is safe from cross-border crimes and improved migration management strategy in the delivery of service to Nigerians across the board.
He said the Nigeria Immigration Service maintains zero tolerance for corruption and corrupt practices.
