SENATOR Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Thursday re-submitted her petition against the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, alleging sexual harassment, abuse of office, and obstruction of her legislative duties.
The petition is now signed by one Azamariya Mariya from her constituent.
This is even as the Senate Committee on Public Conduct, Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions has recommended the suspension of the Kogi State-born senator, who currently represents Kogi Central Senatorial District, for a period of six months.
The Committee’s chairman, Senator Neda Imasuen, who presented the panel’s report at plenary, said Senator Natasha was guilty of all allegations against her as she failed to submit herself to the legislative Committee for the review of her conduct.
Senators are currently taking their turns to debate the report subject to further amendments of the Committee’s recommendations and final adoption.
The senator was referred to the committee over her alleged misconduct following a face-off with Senate President Godswill Akpabio over the seating arrangement in the chamber.
The controversy took a new twist days later when Senator Natasha accused Senator Akpabio of sexual harassment, and abuse of office, among others.
