THE Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps, codenamed So-Safe Corps, has handed over illegal immigrants to the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) for investigation.
The Commander of So-Safe Corps, Dr Soji Ganzallo confirmed this in a statement in Abeokuta through the office of the Director of Information and Public Relations, Mr Moruf Yusuf.
Dr Ganzallo explained that the operatives of the Corps had apprehended the four nationals from Cameroon and Chad on their way to Lafenwa after illegal entrance into Ogun State.
He said the suspects, identified as Dorooumouna Brosia, a 23-year-old Cameroonian and leader of the group; Hassan Bukhari, a Cameroonian; Saleh Sinine Sakhair, a 27-year-old Chadian; and Mahamat Moudaina, a 23-year-old Chadian and brother to Saleh, had revealed that a Chadian national named Hassan Seid, a resident of Ibadan who had been living and working in Lafenwa, invited and directed them to proceed to Ogun State.
Dr Ganzallo said the illegal immigrants claimed they were there to work and improve their English language skills while conducting business.
He expressed concerns that illegal entry into the state could pose threats to national security, public safety, and health.
