FORMER presidential aide, Dr Doyin Okupe has said some Northerners are not pleased with the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to Okupe, this is because they believe their region has not been properly rewarded for the support they gave to see Tinubu’s emergence as President.
In a post on X, he said, “Some Northern stakeholders are unhappy with the present administration. They believe North has not been adequately rewarded for supporting PBAT. Ambitious Northerners hope to exploit this in 2027. SW (South-West) & NW (North-West) are partners in stabilizing the Nigerian project. This partnership is NOT about to end.”
Okupe’s comment comes amid a visit to former president Muhammadu Buhari by former vice president and the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar. Accompanying Atiku on the visit was former governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State.
Also, the former governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-rufai, paid a visit to Buhari just a day after Atiku’s visit.
