NEWLY appointed coach of the Super Eagles Eric Chelle has said the job of managing the elite national team is too big and prestigious to brush aside.
The former head coach of MC Oran of Algeria and the Eagles of Mali made this submission in Oran on Saturday after drawing the curtain to his time with Algerian club MC Oran after beating US Biskra 1-0 at home.
The Franco-Mali gaffer said: “This was my last game in charge of MC Oran,” Chelle said. “I worked with enthusiasm and of course the pressure.”
He went on to say, “I will miss the fans, so also the critics.
“I have officially joined Nigeria who are without doubt the best team in Africa.
“This is a huge opportunity I could not refuse, I grab it with both hands.”
Chelle is due in Nigeria on Monday to sign and be unveiled by the Nigeria Football Federation<NFF).
The job of managing the Super Eagles of Nigeria is the biggest task ever undertaken by the 47-year-old former centre-back who had five caps with Mali.
