THE Supreme Court today reserved judgment in the appeals filed by the candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, and his counterpart in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Azeez Adediran (popularly known as JANDOR) against the election of the current governor of the state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
It will be recalled that the Court of Appeal had earlier upheld the decision of the Lagos State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal which affirmed the declaration of Sanwo-Olu as the duly elected governor of the state by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the election conducted on 18 March 2023.
A five-member panel of the apex court chaired by Justice John Okoro told parties that they would be informed when the judgments are ready.
The Lagos State deputy governor, Dr Femi Hamzat, Secretary to the State Government, Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin and a number of senior officials of the state government were present in court during the session.
Mr Sanwo-Olu, Dr Hamzat and the APC are the respondents in the appeal.
