CAPTAIN of Team Nigeria at the ongoing Paris Olympic Games, Anuoluwapo Juwon Opeyori, has been thrown out of the badminton singles event in the first round.
27-year-old Opeyori, ranked 104 in the World, was shown the exit door by Switzerland’s Tobias Kuenzi in straight sets 22-20 and 21-14 earlier today at the Games.
Opeyori, a multiple African Champion, becomes the seventh member of Team Nigeria who could not go beyond the first round of his or her event in the French capital.
