SENATOR Neda Imasuen representing Edo South Senatorial District on the platform of the Labour Party (LP) has expressed strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that the President deserves a second term in 2027 due to his bold leadership.
Speaking to journalists in Benin City over the weekend, Imasuen praised Tinubu’s “unbelievably strong courage” in steering the country through challenging times and asserted that the South should retain the presidency in the next election cycle.
He also backed the recent Supreme Court ruling that removed Julius Abure as the National Chairman of the Labour Party, stating that Abure lacked genuine commitment to the party’s progress.
Imasuen, who chairs the Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct and Public Petitions, is the only Labour Party senator in Edo State. The remaining two senatorial districts — Edo North and Edo Central — are currently represented by members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), including former governor Adams Oshiomhole.
