An unidentified. housewife has alleged that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has a polling booth recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) situated right in front of his Bourdillion, Ikoyi Lagos home.

The woman in a post on social media gave the details of the voting centre as polling unit code as 24-08-09-020, polling unit as Bourdillion and registration area (Ward) Ikoyi II in Eti-Osa Local Government Area.
The woman further stated that it is unfair and unsafe to have a polling booth situated in a candidate’s home. She also said that although it is new, it has prevented her and other residents of the area from exercising their voting right as the APC stalwart has his people around on election days. She claimed that this has prevented her from voting in the past but that she has made up her mind to vote this time around.
But reacting to the allegation, the former Lagos State governor’s spokesman, Tunde Rahman asked that our correspondence cross-checks with INEC. Hear him: you said the polling booth has been there before now. I can’t confirm the veracity of this claim as I don’t vote there. What you should do is to find out from INEC. Asiwaju is not responsible for citing polling stations now.
“So what you need to do is go to INEC and find out when the polling station was cited. If there is any such thing there, and from what you have said it is not a recent development. So, find out from INEC how long it has been there.
Meanwhile, efforts to get INEC’s position on the claim proved abortive at press time as Mr Rotimi Oyekanmi’s number was unreachable. Oyekanmi is the Chief Press Secretary to INEC chairman.
