TWO suspects, who allegedly conspired to steal a Dangote truck with the inscription “ICT 17C 022 AT AG INSPECTOR Kara Dangote”, have been arrested, while efforts are being intensified by the Ogun State Police Command to recover the vehicle.
The arrest of Lawal and Mohammed Ndatotu at Ogbere, through tracking, by the Ogere Divisional Police Officer was sequel to a report made to the Police by the truck driver, that the vehicle was stolen where he parked it.
He further stated that on “returning to the parking area on 29 October 2023, he discovered that the truck, with registration number KPF 237 XA, had been taken to an unknown location, and the two motor boys had absconded”.
Meanwhile, the two suspects, have since confessed to stealing the vehicle from where it was parked, the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Omolola Oduntola said, adding that the Command had commenced investigation into the incident, part of which is to gather additional information on other accomplices still at large, and bring them to justice.
As for the truck, the Command’s spokesperson said its recovery is a priority for the state Commissioner of Police, Alamutu Abiodun Mustapha, “who is calling on collaboration with concerned citizens, to volunteer information to locate the missing truck”.
